Deutsche Funkturm relocates headquarters to Leverkusen and repositions itself

Leverkusen, July 1, 2025: Germany's largest tower company, DFMG Deutsche Funkturm GmbH, is relocating its headquarters from Münster to Leverkusen. At the same time, the group is adapting its corporate structure in order to accelerate the expansion of mobile communication infrastructure across the country.

Deutsche Funkturm operates more than 35,200 sites across Germany for mobile network providers, broadcasting and various other radio services. With 800 employees and an annual revenue of more than one billion euros, the company is one of the leading tower companies in Europe. Deutsche Funkturm was founded in 2002 as a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom and has had the U.S. company DigitalBridge and Canada’s Brookfield as additional owners since 2023.

As of July 1, 2025, the company will move its headquarters to Leverkusen-Opladen. Around 200 employees already work there today. As the company continues to grow, construction work is set to begin this year on a new, modern office building in the same district.

At the same time, the group is adapting its corporate structure and will in future provide its services through four closely interlinked individual companies:

  • DFMG Deutsche Funkturm GmbH: Will remain the group's main operating company. It will continue to look after customers and owns the main infrastructure as well as the associated land, leases and rental agreements, on the basis of which it rents out the corresponding infrastructure.
  • DFMG Engineering GmbH & Co. KG: As a service provider for DFMG, Engineering KG will essentially coordinate the site search and site planning as well as engineering services in connection with the corresponding site realization for the respective infrastructure.
  • DFMG Corporate Functions GmbH: In future, DFMG Corporate Functions GmbH will perform group routine functions that are currently bundled in DFMG Deutsche Funkturm GmbH. It will provide internal services to the Group.
  • DFMG Holding GmbH: Will in future perform key group functions for the entire DFMG Group.

All individual companies operate under the joint brand “Deutsche Funkturm”. They are represented by the same members of the management and each company will be headquartered in Leverkusen.

“Our new corporate structure strengthens our ability to act in the increasingly dynamic and complex mobile communications market,” says Bruno Jacobfeuerborn, Chairman of the Management Board.

"We are delighted to have found an attractive new home for our company in Leverkusen. Here we are closer to important customers, partners and specialists with whom we can drive our growth. Leverkusen is the new engine for the expansion of mobile communications in Germany!"
